Comanche National Grassland is 443,000 acres of high plains prairie where most people see emptiness and locals see everything. This is shortgrass country—pronghorn territory, dinosaur trackways, and endless sky. It’s working land that feeds cattle, shelters wildlife, and holds stories from the Santa Fe Trail to the Dust Bowl. These grasslands don’t beg for attention, but they anchor entire ecosystems.
