Karta River Wilderness protects 39,889 acres of old-growth temperate rainforest on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska’s Tongass National Forest. This roadless wilderness shelters ancient Sitka spruce and western hemlock, wild salmon runs, and some of the last intact coastal ecosystems in North America. No crowds, no cell service—just pristine forest and the sound of the Karta River carving through untouched terrain. Rep a wilderness most people will never see but everyone should know exists.
